I'm farming with my SD wiz recently and Drale for the first time with him. So trying out a bunch of spells as my DC not uber. I am having some success with Confusion spell as its a will save. I found that its pretty good where i gather them all up with a shadow archer as bait and then cast a bunch of confusion on them so they just stand there or attack each other. May try next with a black blade of disaster but so far the shadow archer is doing his lure job quite well. I was thinking it could be a great way to do Kyrnn. Im sure my DC will never confuse Krynn but i think if my DC is good enough then i can confuse the minions around him and then he may spend his time chasing them down instead of us. Have to test this tactic soon if i can get a party and some drale summon disks.

So i tried in a party doing Kynn and found that i can confuse the archers around the edge and also Dominate them. Kynn was very happy to spend time attacking them.
Wish i got the screen shot but forgot to do that.
The higher level minions in the center are hard to confuse as their will save is pretty good. My sneaky wiz is not a high enough DC caster and so am thinking of rebuilding to max int and take more esf feats so its more viable strategy.
Next i will try with some soups of extended mind fog in the center (an unhelpful fort save) and maybe they roll low or a 1 and so it lowers their will and so confusion works on higher level monsters.

You should cast mind fog when they fail that save they will have -10 will save the you can have more success with will save spells in general I would rebuild as gnome and take 14 dex that is all that is needed and 2 efs. The good thing about wiz sd is a lot of gear for assassin brings dex and intel which is what you need . For darkmoor go necro or enchant but since they have low will you can go illusion for weird spell.
